This is a mask I made a few years ago that is supposed to embody the element of fire, and I am very happ with how it turned out. This is one of the few pieces that I can look back on years later and not think it is awful.
The pictures I took don't do the mask justice, I hope to have new picture eventually
The mask took several days to construct, and is made from a variety of materials. The base for the mask is actually crayola modeling foam (which is actually not that bad for making bases and such)which i placed over another mask my mother and I made of my face when I was younger. The scales are all craft foam, the stuff that comes in sheets, that I cut into may different shapes, and I shaded with graphite on the edges to give them an ember-like look. The are also some bead, feathers, fake jewels and even a few pipecleaners. So this isen't reall a traditional sculpture, but I am still ver happy with it.
